ABOUT THE ARTIST

William Satloff was born in Washington, D.C. in 2000. Having grown up in a family of writers, musicians, and visual artists, he developed a strong sense of aesthetic from an early age. William attended the Appel Farm Arts & Music Center from 2010-2016 as both a student and instructor of ceramics and laboratory photography. In 2013, William began taking courses at Hinckley Pottery, Washington’s premier wheel-thrown pottery studio. In 2016, he began an apprenticeship —including teaching, processing clay, and  firing kilns—  with master potter Jill Hinckley.

William began teaching private lessons at his home studio in June 2017. He has been displayed in student and professional shows across the Washington D.C. area, as well as being featured in the storefront of Knoll Furniture Design in Manhattan and in the office of Congressman Jamie Raskin.

William lives, works, and attends high school in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
